More on the Ramp Project

ATTIC Inc. is excited to announce the first ramp construction made with funds donated to the Knox County Community Foundation.  Janice Groves is looking forward to using her new ramp to be able to go in and out of her home in her wheelchair.  The ramp will be completed in 2 to 3 days and we will have a "ribbon cutting". The cost of this ramp is in the neighborhood of $1000. Our final cost will be posted. We will need to fund raise to replenish these funds so we may build another ramp.  You make make donations to "the Attic Fund" at the Knox County Community Foundation.

Ramp Project

ATTIC, Inc. is Proud to announce our new Ramp Project.  We will be working with the Metropolitan Center for Independent Living to build quality ramps for individuals with disabilities.  Our goal is provide ramp to people who would not normally be able to afford them.   We feel this is one way to make a difference in the communities ATTIC serves.

Not only will the ramps help people who really need them, they will also meet ADA Guidelines and be recyclable.  Meeting ADA Guidelines is just as important as the ramps, because it insures people’s safety.    When a ramp is no longer needed, the materials will be stored and reused for future ramps.  The Vincennes Lowe’s will provide storage for the reusable materials.

To make this project possible, Attic will need your help, through donations and volunteers.  If your interested in helping, donations can be made at the Knox County Community Foundation under the The ATTIC Inc. Fund for Independent Living” or through Chipin accessed through our website, www.atticindiana.org.  People with construction experience who would like to volunteer, please contact Becky Compton at 1-812-886-0575 or by email, click here.
